LP album "Iroha" 1981 by maestro Stomu Yamashta, (or Stomu Yamash'ta) pseudonym of Yamashita Tsutomu (Kyoto, 15 March 1947), is a Japanese composer, percussionist and keyboardist.
Stomu Yamashta studied at the Kyoto Academy of Music, making his debut solo concert at the age of 16. After 1964 he studied jazz percussion at the Berklee School of Jazz.
He has composed pieces for the British Royal Ballet. Some of his tracks, from the albums Floating Music and The man from the East, were used on the soundtrack of Nicolas Roeg's The Man Who Fell to Earth with David Bowie, Ken Russell's The Devils, and Paul Mazursky's The Tempest.
