A very RARE and beautiful book in the Adam & Charles travels series..."FRom Damascus to Palmyra" published in 1908, written by John Kelman with folding colour map of the region tipped in to rear; 70 colour plates by Margaret Thomas protected by captioned tissue-guards and 16 black and white photographic plates; Book in very good condition inside, all illustrations with speaking tissue guards present, only light foxing and stains. Rebacked by library with only signs: numbers on spine, stamps on front pastedowne and ffe, on preliminaries, a very faint stamp on the rear of plates, hardly to be seen, no other markings.
